The Off Air Message Tool was created to ensure that your bar always has a message displayed, and is never blank. In the event that we lose your station's stream or feed, the Off Air Message will display on the bar. Unlike Scheduled Messages, which display based on an hourly schedule, the Off Air Message will display based on our adjustable timeout feature (our default timeout is 20 minutes). For example, if 20 minutes has passed and we haven't received any song data from your station, the Off Air Message will display. You can adjust the timeout down to 1 minute -- essentially 'overriding' your station's song data -- and the Off Air Message will display after the song data has shown for 1 minute. If you do not manually set an Off Air Message, we will automatically display one for you after 20 minutes of no song data received. This default Off Air Message will simply be your station's title (see Step #1 below for details on your station title).
Before an Off Air Message can be set, you must firstcreate a message.
1. After logging into the TuneGenie CMS, select the station callsign that you wish to edit. (See the station titles below? This is what we use for your default Off Air Message, if you don't create your own. If the default Off Air Message needs to be changed, please contact us.)
2. Click 'Scheduled Messages'.
3. Click 'Off Air Message'.
3. Adjust the timeout, select your custom message from the dropdown and click 'Save'.
4. If you leave the dropdown box under 'Offair Message' blank, we will display your default Off Air Message (contact us if you would like the default Off Air Message changed).
